Building a CMS based website with character

In Origin’s decade-long relationship with Jay Peak Resort, we have been responsible for several of its website iterations. As the resort has grown, its website has scaled to accommodate new amenities, new features and new guest expectations. After reviewing the analytics and guest feedback, we determined that the old site could no longer accommodate the new content and visitor requirements: It was time to remove the friction and inject Jay’s unique brand tone to create something fresh and inspiring.

Strengthening culture and loyalty

By leveraging Jay Peak’s unique voice and design aesthetic from the get-go, our web team was able to meet the demand for user-friendliness and expanded content while also further developing Jay’s brand and cultivating an even greater sense of culture and loyalty among both new and existing fans.

Eye-catching illustrations

Incorporating custom illustrations throughout the website, even on information-dense pages, ensured consistency of brand, while also keeping the site lively and further emphasizing the playful side of Jay.

The Origin team took our dinosaur of a site and completely redeveloped it. That meant not only a new site (by merging several existing sites) with content in multiple languages but also a new CMS, integrated e-commerce and online booking tools, and later CRM and survey functionality. We always knew the site would look great but it was important that we end up with more than just a Jay Peak info guide and Origin (over) delivered. They presented an original, engaging design that that draws you in visually, added layers of functionality that lets people interact from the homepage on through to our moment{us} pages (for sharing photos, videos, stories) and beyond, and developed the site so that it scales seamlessly to mobile and tablet. And it doesn’t just resize, the layout completely adapts to feed relevant information based on device. They get it – they meshed design with functionality with things we didn’t even know we needed so we ended up with something better than we imagined.
